The special needs community often encounters marginalization, prejudice, discrimination, and social isolation, leading to adverse effects on their mental health. Studies indicate that over two-thirds (70%) of individuals with special needs experience mental health challenges due to social isolation. As a part of our efforts to promote awareness, social interaction, and provide mental and physical benefits, we aim to leverage figure skating as an activity for these purposes.
At Glide to Growth (NFP), our mission is to empower neurodivergent children to reach their full potential and thrive in all areas of their lives. We believe that figure skating is a unique and effective activity that can provide children with a wide range of physical, mental, and emotional benefits. Our team of experienced and USFS-verified instructors is committed to providing personalized figure skating lessons to neurodivergent children around the globe. By tailoring our lessons to each child’s specific needs and abilities, we help them develop skills and abilities that can improve their overall quality of life. In addition to providing figure skating lessons, Glide to Growth (NFP) also offers a supportive and inclusive community for neurodivergent children and their families. We offer FREE personalized 30-minute one-on-one lessons. Our instructors will guide students through the adaptive curriculum, ensuring progress and enjoyment. To accommodate our student-centric membership, we offer flexible scheduling options, primarily on weekends and weekday afternoons. The only expenses involved are for rental skates and protective equipment if required. Once a lesson time is confirmed with us, we provide a waiver for parents to review and sign.
